Supported living is an important step towards independence. We know how important it is for people to have the right support to live the life they want.

At Bright Way Care Agency, we support adults with brain injury, alcohol/drug misuse, learning disabilities/autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, younger adults, and behaviours that challenge.

Individuals are supported to hold their tenancy agreement with a registered housing association. Individuals who are interested in our services may have previously been detained within a hospital setting and are ready for a step-down placement within their local community. Bright Way Care Agency also provides Outreach support services

Mental Health Services

Our team supports people living with a wide range of mental health needs. Individuals may have a primary mental health diagnosis, e.g., schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder; they may also have secondary needs relating to a learning disability, autism, and personality disorder.

Each day, the people supported by our services show immense strength. As well as their diagnosis, some of the people we support may have a previous history of substance abuse, and they have often experienced traumatic events in their past. Our team works with individuals to take small steps to overcome these hurdles each day.

Our mental health services provide person-centred support for people living with a range of mental health conditions, whether mild to moderate, complex, challenging, or long-term. We also support individuals with complex and physical disabilities. Our Supported Living Model aims to support people with long-term mental health conditions to become more independent and achieve their goals in a safe, comfortable living environment.

Learning Disability Services

Our support workers are highly qualified and are dedicated to making a positive and long-term impact on the people in their care. We use interactive and activity-based learning to support individuals to learn independent living skills, participate in activities that they enjoy, and play an active part in their local community. Our multidisciplinary teams provide behavioural, emotional, and psychological support. Our team are flexible in their approach to support; we find the right tools to support everyone with learning disabilities, empowering them to lead meaningful, fulfilled lives and to achieve their goals. We work closely with external professionals, such as speech and language therapists.

Autism Spectrum

We believe that supporting people with autism spectrum conditions is not just about accommodating a person’s disabilities but making the most of their abilities. We will never underestimate an individual’s ability, and our teams will be patient and supportive, with a focus on helping them achieve their potential.
Working closely with the individual, their families and other professionals, we have a complete focus on achieving a positive outcome. We encourage the people we support to take part in meaningful activities and work with us to achieve our shared goals. We help people get involved in community activities, develop life skills, maintain friendships and gain access to employment and educational opportunities.

Our support plans are built together with the individual and their support networks, with detailed steps to improve functional capabilities and build skills to enhance their quality of life. Our support planning system allows us to record the little things that really make a difference to someone living with autism, such as their likes and dislikes and which environments they feel most comfortable in.
